Ep. 2 - A Conversation about Birth Order - Not My Ship to Run
When it comes to observing the dynamics between children (and heck, adults, too!), there are few things more interesting than the subject of birth order. This episode was not only fun to record, but fun to prep for!
We both have been really fascinated by this topic for a long time, so for our SECOND episode (woo-hoo!), we dove into The Birth Order Book by Kevin Leman and talked about all things first borns, middle children, the "babies" of the family, and lonely onlies! You'll learn with us that while there are definitely exceptions to "the rule", the order in which kids come into a family greatly shapes who they become. Check out the book Jennifer talked about here. If you’re looking for something more about relationships and birth order, check out the book Courtney read, The Birth Order Connection.
Wanna see a picture of a first born getting it done???
And from our "I'm Totally Into..." segment:
We are starting with Jennifer's pick even though we didn't in the episode, because Courtney's is worth saving for last as the episode mic drop, y'all.
Below are links to BOTH set of Lashstash To Go by Sephora. Five samples in there, AND that voucher!
And then we found this after the fact, but it's too good to not mention... SEVEN sample mascaras, TWO full size mascaras, and a pair of feathery falsies for $48!!!!! What?!?!?!
Courtney brought some truth to the segment, and it was so good to hear what she had learned recently. Such a great reminder that God longs for us to be "totally into" His word and the truths He wants to reveal to us.
Psalm 84:5-7 (NIV)
Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs;
the autumn rains also cover it with pools.
They go from strength to strength till each appears before God in Zion.
Guys, this was so fun for us to discuss and we want to keep the conversation going! What birth order do you have happening at your house? How do you see birth order playing out with your kids and spouse? Do they follow "the rules" or not? Let us know here in the comments or on Instagram!
Have a great week, Mamas!
