Ep. 16 - Happy New Year! What's your WORD?
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Howwwww is it 2018 already? We don't know about y'all, but we are super excited for the new year and the opportunities and possibilities new years brings. In today's episode, we are talking all about casting a vision, choosing a word, and why "resolutions" need. to. go!
Jennifer talked about Jon Acuff's book Finish. She is so excited to begin (and finish) this book! See what we did there?
Courtney talked about the Kale and Chocolate blog post about picking a word for the year. What is going to be your word? Jennifer also mentioned how she found last year's "word of the year" on a piece of Rae Dunn pottery.
We talked about our own vision meeting we had for the Mommin' Ain't Easy podcast. We developed our vision statement: We are a positive podcast hosted by two Nashville moms engaged in honest conversations to encourage all moms through the joys and messes of intentional Mommin'.
Core Values: 1) We are a community. 2) We are encouraging. 3) We hope to be inspiring. 4) We always want to be fun.
As we move into 2018, we want each and every episode to reflect our mission and core values! Our "word" for this year is..... drumroll..... INTENTIONAL. Yes, it's for sure a buzz word right now, and understandably so, because it so much reflects how we both want to be as moms, wives, friends, daughters, and women. And we want to encourage you in the same way with our podcast! And as a 2018 gift to you, we want you to download and print this image below of the word "intentional" that Jennifer lettered just for you guys! Hang it on your wall, post it in your bathroom as a reminder first thing in the morning, or save to your camera roll and make it your phone's background!
Courtney mentioned the Cultivate What Matters website. It is chock-full of goodies, including a place to buy PowerSheets and Lara Casey's crowdcast video. Make sure you follow them on Instagram - they are MASTERS! (UPDATE - The 2018 Goalsheets One year planner is sold out already (!!), but they have a six month undated version and other powersheet bundles to check out.)
From our I'm Totally Into.... segment:
Courtney's is The 1 Second Everyday app. What a cool idea! Definitely something to start TODAY!
Jennifer's is Orange Theory Fitness. Listen to the segment as she explains how it works. And your first class is free!
Happiest of New Years, mamas!
