Ep. 19 - The Enneagram & Mommin' with Special Guest Beth McCord

Ep. 19 - The Enneagram & Mommin' with Special Guest Beth McCord

Hey everybody! We Mommin' Ain't Easy gals are coming off of a TEN DAY weekend! Yes, we had snow days begin the Friday before last and go through this entire past week! The snow was beautiful and amazing AND we are all a bit stir crazy here in Nashville!

But, nevermind the snow... Today we are suuuuuper excited about this episode, because we have ANOTHER guest on to talk about a topic that is all the buzz here in Music City! (We are loving this guest thing, and we hope you are, too!) Today, we are talking about the Enneagram! Have you heard of it? Our guest today is Beth McCord and she is a local gal and an enneagram coach. She has many years of experience teaching people about the enneagram and consequently taught us so much as well.

Beth's website is a fantastic resource to discover your type. She has a sample test you can take to find out what direction you may leaning in. Courtney knew her number right away, but Jennifer has not been so sure. She took several tests online, and the results led her to several numbers - ha! Beth also has a fantastic course on her website that you can go through, that goes into each number at a much deeper level. Jennifer did this course and can vouch that it's a wonderful resource! Beth also sent us some FREE resources to pass along to you: An Overview of All 9 Types and the 9 Types of Children and How to Figure Your Kiddos Out!

The best way to find your number is to really research and learn about the 9 types and see which resonates with you the most and then talk through it with people you are close to you and know you well. On a previous episode, Courtney mentioned the book, The Road Back to You, another fantastic resource to learn about all things enneagram. The authors of the book also have a podcast where they have interviewed people of each type - so interesting!

We hope you will find this episode and the concept of the enneagram as fascinating as we do! In so many ways, it can truly be life-changing. Learning your own type will help you to navigate in a healthy way through seasons of growth and stress. Learning the other eight types will give you a deeper understanding of others and, as a result, much more compassion all around. Dive in and let us know what you think! And let us know in the comments below what your number is!

From our "I'm Totally Into..." segment:

Beth is totally into... the enneagram, of course!!

Courtney is totally into the blog Dinner A Love Story and their subsequent books, Dinner A Love Story, Dinner: the Playbook, and How to Celebrate Everything.

And Jennifer, as "cheesy" as this may be has been toooootally into two amazing flavor of Cheez-Its. Yes, Cheez-Its, y'all. But really, you guys, the "Hot & Spicy" and the "Duoz: Jalapeño & Cheddar Jack" are. so. stinking. addictive. Not a great January habit to start 2018 - ha!

Have a great week, mamas!
