Ep. 60 - Podcast Series - 'Aspen Ideas to Go - ep. 195 "The Perils of Over-Parenting"
Hey everybody! We can NOT believe it is November!! Where has the time gone, for real??? It is beautiful here in Nashville, with all the leaves changing and falling - we hope it is cool and beautiful where you are, too!
If you’ve been listening or reading, you know we’ve been directing you over to episode 195 of the Aspen Ideas to Go podcast for the last several weeks. We hope you have listened to it! And of course, if you haven’t, you can still listen in to us as we discuss it! Jennifer came across this podcast a couple months ago and really wanted to have a conversation about it. It was because of this (and so many other great podcasts we’ve listened to) that we decided to turn it into a series. In between our book club months, we will have our podcast series, where we point you to a podcast episode to listen to, and then we will all come together for our episode as we discuss it!
So, what did you guys think of the episode we pointed you to today? We REALLY would love to hear what you think, and let this become a conversation between all of us! Comment below, or on today’s instagram post, and let us know your thoughts.
Remember all the teen slang we’ve chatted about - check out Anna Macfarlane’s Instagram stories in Kids Are the Worst… talking about teenager slang! I mean, we are still newbs to it, but we are so gag by keeping you informed on this. It’s like bringing you alllll the gucci tea you’ve ever wanted and it’s LIT, y'all. Just don’t be rando when you choose to use these words, or you’ll be so sweaty. Yeet! 😂
Courtney talked about Ralphie Jacobs’ Instagram stories on Simply on Purpose - look for the Junk 1 and Junk 2! There are some great tips in there!
This article describes Donald Winnicott’s theory of “a good enough mother”. What a wonderful concept and a gift to us moms! What do you think of this idea and theory?
From our “I’m Totally Into…” segment:
Courtney is totally into cooking whole chickens in the crockpot lately. Yes to multiple meals from one cooking sesh - chicken meat and broth for days!
Jennifer is totally into Kiwi Crate. Not only is this a FANTASTIC gift idea (holidays are reallllly close, y’all), but Jennifer was thoroughly impressed with their customer service, which always goes super far in our book.
We hope you enjoyed today’s episode! (We enjoyed talking about it!) Let us know below in the comments what your thoughts were about the episode! Have a GREAT week, mamas!
